Anabel is an absolute quality teacher, she combines great conversation, grammar points and useful tips, and is also very patient and friendly. The classes are always well prepared and structured, however, she will adapt these as and when she needs to!. I genuinely looked forward to the classes, and its a shame that she left Madrid!

After living in Madrid for an entire year with no knowledge of the language, I finally decided to take classes. A friend of mine referred me to Anabel and for that I am so thankful!
Anabel is a warm and friendly person and as soon as I met her I felt comfortable. After a few classes I had more confidence in the language than I ever thought I would have! Her classes were specifically catered to my needs and along with being challenging, they were fun and engaging. I would recommend Anabel to anyone looking for the best!

Anabel is a dedicated and conscientious teacher who tailors her classes to suit the needs of the students. She is very good at simplifying complex grammar points and she divides class time appropriately between different kinds of activities. I recommend her classes to students of all levels.

Anabel is a great teacher! I really enjoyed learning with her and what made it even easier for me was that, apart from speaking English fluently, Anabel also speaks fluent German, which helped me with the grammar.

My Spanish improved a lot by taking classes with Anabel. She focused on areas that I needed to improve and helped me feel more comfortable in my speaking abilities. She also made classes fun and we did different types of speaking activities. I learned so much from these classes in the few short months that I took them!

I absolutely loved having Anabel as my Spanish teacher while in Spain. She made me feel so comfortable and lose all of my nerves. She takes the time to get to know you. I had a very basic knowledge of spainish before taking her classes and after being with her for 8 months I feel like I can communicate with some ease in Spanish. Like Jessica said, I learned more in my 8 months than I did in all of my other courses combined. I would highly recommend her to anyone and can assure you that you will become significantly better in Spanish. I hope you all get the chance to work with her and improbe your skills (while having a lot of laughs!!).

I took classes with Anabel for 8 months and wish I had found her sooner! She was extremely responsive to my needs and is always so kind and patient. She is always prepared, professional, and encouraging. From the beginning to the end of the year I saw a huge difference in my speaking and understanding abilities. Anabel has helped me feel confident with my Spanish and has taught me more in 8 months than I learned in 4 years of school! I absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a truly great teacher :)

Anabel is a wonderful teachers. I recently took the DELE B2 and when I started classes with Anabel, I was a B1. After 3 months, I was really speaking and using Spanish like I never had before.
I have gone to several different language academies and paid private tutors, but out of them all, Anabel truly stands out for her professionalism, her ability to make the class personalized, and her knowledge on how to properly teacher Spanish.
I would recommend Anabel's classes to my closest friends, because she really is the best!

I agree with the other comments people have made but, for me, Anabel's greatest asset as a teacher is that she really pushes you to try and improve. She could have just smiled, taken my money and told me how wonderfully I was doing, but she took it as a matter of professional pride to be honest with me in order to help me advance my language skills. She will highlight your successes but also the areas in which you need to improve. For most people, learning a new language is a difficult process and one that requires a lot of work - Anabel is not afraid to remind her students of this because she wants them to progress. In my opinion Anabel is the of type teacher you need if you are to get beyond the basics and really be able to communicate properly in Spanish. In the nine months of lessons I had with Anabel I made genuine progress and my Spanish language skills improved considerably.

I met Anabel through another teacher who started lessons with her. I was nervous at the start but Anabel is warm and friendly and makes everything easy and stress free! I have enjoyed all our lessons and always looked forward to going to them. She takes time to explain things to you whilst never (miraculously) getting frustrated!
Lessons are enjoyable and structured with different activities, reading, listening, role play, games and of course talking and conversation. I am gutted she's gone to Holland, no Spanish teacher will replace her. I am also a Teacher and have been impressed with her teaching methods, manner and skill.

A highly dedicated Spanish teacher

Anabel assesses your needs accurately and teaches flexibly but with good direction and structure. She makes learning objectives clear and plans and delivers games and speaking activities which match this. Activities are pre-planned meticulously to allow for rapid progress in new learning and recap of old learning.
Her deep subject knowledge enables her to react and teach to spontaneous questions that arise within the class. As a language teacher myself, I can really appreciate her excellent pedagogical knowledge and attention to detail which allows her to build the confidence and progress in the learner - correcting without over-correcting for example. Every conversation is scaffolded to support new language structures which makes the conversations purposeful and useful.
Homework is set to consolidate the learning. This is not only marked in class to allow face to face feedback, but often recieved and marked online during the week which encourages students to do extra study during the week.
Activities are interesting and engaging using a range of mediums including mp3s, videos, flashcards, structured conversation and games.
Anabel is friendly and has a great personality. She is ready to listen which makes her approachable and very easy to talk to. I highly recommend her to anybody looking to learn and enjoy the language.

First lesson: Anabel enters and starts to speak Spanish right away, while that time I knew only "Una cerveza por favor" and "Donde esta...". After couple of lessons I could communicate easily in simple situations - in shop/bar/gym etc. After 2 months I started to talk to my colleugues in the Madrid office in Spanish. After 5 months of regular classes I reached the level of B1, which is normally achievable in 1-2 years. Pretty amazing progress - everything thanks to Anabel!!! I couldn't imagine a better teacher than Anabel.
